Conference Registration Bursary

To uphold our commitment to making ARMA events as accessible and inclusive as possible, we are excited to offer the Conference Registration Bursary again for 2025. This initiative provides complimentary conference tickets to support members from marginalised or underrepresented groups who may face financial barriers to attendance.

Please note: This bursary is separate from the Support to Attend bursary, which focuses on additional financial assistance for attendees who already have conference tickets.

What the bursary covers

The bursary includes the full cost of conference registration. However, it does not cover travel or accommodation expenses. These costs must be covered by the applicant or their host institution.

A limited number of complimentary tickets are available under this scheme.

Eligibility

Applicants must be ARMA members to qualify. The bursary is specifically aimed at members from marginalised or underrepresented backgrounds, including but not limited to:

  • Research managers and administrators who identify as Global Majority*

  • Individuals with protected characteristics

  • Early career research managers and administrators

  • People with caring responsibilities

  • Representatives from charitable organisations

  • Representatives from independent research organisations

*Global Majority is an emerging term to describe people traditionally defined as BAME in the UK.

Testimonials from last year’s recipients:

“As a single parent the ARMA bursary allowed me to attend the annual conference when I would have been unable to fund the cost myself. The conference provided me with an opportunity to connect with others working in this space, in particularly those working in the Arts and Humanities, and to learn from their experiences. I have now registered for the ARMA mentoring scheme, signed up to the Arts and Humanities SIG, and recently accepted a new post as a Research Manager at my institution."

“The bursary was transformational in allowing me to attend my first ARMA conference, and I would not have been able to experience it without the support of the ARMA bursary. The conference was key in helping me to develop my professional networks within both UK Higher Education Institutions and those abroad, and it was an invaluable opportunity to share best practice with others and learn from colleagues across the sector.”
